I always say, "This week was a doozy". But seriously, this week was a doozy. The week started out with me taking a half day at work as a result of taking the wrong kind of cold medicine. One of the side effects was marked drowsiness. I was in-and-out of consciousness for the entire morning-- messing up product, falling asleep on the table while standing up, and nearly tipping over. It's a miracle I didn't hurt myself since the machine I was using could have easily crushed my fingers. There are also some huge sexual harassment issues at work that I'm still figuring out how to deal with (which I will discuss more about later).
And, last week I worked 39 hours and 50 minutes. But, the company thought they would be cheeky and only pay me for 39 hours even though I was 10 minutes away from 40. I'm going to raise a stink about this because my paycheck is significantly smaller despite only working 10 minutes less.
BUT! There are still things to celebrate. Here's was made my week a little more tolerable:
Green Tea Ginger Ale I had to clean out the basement fridge, and while doing so, I found a single, lonely can of Green Tea Ginger Ale. I didn't want it to be alone, so I drank it. It was glorious (since I haven't been able to find this beverage for a couple of months)!
Hello Kitty Thermos What's not to like about a Hello Kitty Thermos? Especially since it keeps my Spaghetti Os with franks warm.
Video Games I've been playing Afro Samurai and Lost Odyssey the past few days. Well, mostly Afro Samurai. And I don't really play it too much because I suck at it, but I watch Marty play it. It's...an interesting game. Even if I am just watching. Very vulgar. But pretty addictive.
Studying Japanese I've discovered a new way to keep myself occupied during boring ol' work. I've loaded my Japanese tapes on to my iPod! I can study while I work, and it keeps my brain sharp! I already feel I have improved my Japanese just by listening to the tapes!
Howl's Moving Castle I absolutely love, Love, LOVE Hayao Miyazaki films. I mean, a smile is plastered to my face and my heart swells when I watch his movies! I've seen a handful in the past, and I'm happy to add Howl's... to that list. A young woman lacking confidence, Sophie, is cursed with an old body by the Witch of the Waste. Her only chance of breaking the spell lies with a self-indulgent yet insecure young wizard, named Howl, and his companions in his legged, walking home.
Long Weekend America is 233 years old today; Happy July 4th! I think Marty and I will skip the Cascades Park firework spectacle. Instead, I think we'll stick around his house and admire the fireworks the homeowners will shoot off around the lake and set off smoke bombs. If you celebrate this holiday, how will you celebrate the 4th of July?
If you had a doozy of a week, what made it more bearable? Or even if your week was lovely, what made it extra special?

i'm sorry about the work being sucky. Hopefully that will be figured out soon.
OOOh if you like Hayao Miyazaki films you should know there is a new one coming out. It's called Ponyo, and it's based off The Little Mermaid. Ponyo starts off as a little gold fish and desperately wants to be human and she evolves through the film.

Hope everything at work gets figured out soon.
I LOVE Howls Moving Castle. I was an absolutely brilliant movie.
Hello Kitty Thermos = love. I was looking at a Hello Kitty lunchbox at Target today. Hello Kitty is the coolest! :)
that work drama sounds rough! i hope they pay you what you deserve!
Oh, boo to your workplace situations, they sound spectacularly lame! Excellent to hear that some things have made your week more splendid, however :) This week I'm loving the close proximity of the weekend (hello, relaxation!), blitzing my college course and listening to The Pet Shop Boys while employing some serious organisation in my house :D Hooray!
